Geri Halliwell has debuted her new single Half Of Me ahead of its release on 25 October.

The singer – affectionately known as Ginger Spice – performed the chirpy pop number in front of a live crowd this weekend along with some of her biggest hits and new material, and it sounds pretty good actually. It is the former Spice Girl’s first solo release since Desire reached #22 on the UK singles chart over eight years ago.

Watch Geri singing Half of Me below:

After quitting the Spice Girls in 1998, Halliwell went on to score massive success without her band mates. Her debut solo hit Look At Me peaked at #2 and went on to shift over 330k copies. Then came a stream of chart toppers with singles Mi Chico Latino, Lift Me Up, Bag It Up and a cover of Martha Wash & The Weather Girls’ It’s Raining Men all reaching number one. Ginger’s last top five hit came in 2004 when Ride It peaked at #4 on the UK Top 40.

And Geri isn’t the only Spice Girl making her way back to the recording studio. Up until recently, Mel C was the only member still actively recording and releasing new material, but last week Mel B premiered the music video for her new single For Once In My Life before releasing it to iTunes.
