video OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE: PET SHOP BOYS – AXIS

Pet Shop Boys have debuted the lead track from their upcoming twelfth studio album ‘Electric’.

‘Axis’ is one of nine tracks to feature on the collection which will also include a collaboration with Example called ‘Thursday’ and a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘The Last To Die’. Produced by Stuart Price, ‘Electric’ heralds a return to the dancefloor and the electronic duo’s first release on their own label x2 since departing from Parlophone last year after 28 years together.

‘Axis’ first made its debut when Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe performed the new track at last month’s annual Cumbre Tajín festival at Papantla, Mexico. It’s a euphoric slab of uplifting dance music and a return to the form which established the pair as one of the UK’s leading electronic pioneers in the 1980s.

‘Electric’ is scheduled for a 15 July release, less than a year after the Pet Shop Boys put out their last album ‘Elysium’ which peaked at #9 on the UK album chart last September.
