American film director David Lynch has teamed up with Swedish singer songwriter Lykke Li on this new track from his upcoming second studio album ‘The Big Dream’.
‘I’m Waiting Here’ was released to iTunes on 3 June serving as the record’s lead promotional single and iTunes bonus track although those investing in the vinyl format of the album will also receive a special edition bonus 7″ also featuring the song.
Speaking of Lykke Li’s ethereal contribution, Lynch said:
“She brought her own style to this song, which has a doo-wop sort of thing going on, but in a way it’s far-removed from the 50s.”
Well, it’s definitely far removed from the ’50s and it’s also definitely super beautiful thanks to the 27 year old’s perfectly pitched, delicate vocal which is utterly entrancing.
Described in a press release by the Mullholland Drive helm as “a hybrid, modernized form of low-down blues”, ‘The Big Dream’ is set for release to UK iTunes on 15 July.
